What OVIS Means to Me

What OVIS Means to Me

My week began on a positive note starting with the OVIS Pilot Launch Party on Sunday. Since then, I have had much time to reflect on my experiences at the event and everything leading up to it. Prior to the launch, I’ve had opportunities to form relationships, give input while planning, and create designs for OVIS! While writing about the Capitol Corridor Stop in Hayward (link), I had the chance to interview Elizabeth Ames and Barbara Halliday, who each provided me with much information, wisdom, and guidance as I wrote my first story for OVIS. During the Pilot Launch, I was lucky enough to meet Barbara Halliday in person and continue to discuss the future of news and other ideas she had for stories. Along with Mrs. Halliday, I was able to meet with a variety of wonderful individuals from the community, each lending great insight as to what matters to them and what ideas they have to make a difference. OVIS inspires me to pursue my passions and continues to motivate me to be brave enough to make changes and uplift my community.
